Cork Flooring

Cork Flooring

Cork has become increasingly popular because of its low impact on the environment and its high functionality. Cork flooring is made from the bark of a Cork Oak. One of the trees can have its bark harvested many times and it will not harm the tree, which makes it totally renewable and gives it the lowest environmental impact of any floor.

Over half of what cork used in flooring is made up of is air, making it very soft to stand on. The cushion like nature of the floor makes it very comfortable to stand on for long periods of time and makes it a great sounds and shock absorber. The springiness of the cork also makes it very durable. Unlike conventional hardwood flooring, when cork is dented the material tends to spring back, mitigating the damage. Cork has a unique texture and look that allow it to hide dust, dirt and any permanent damage that may occur.
